Could someone tell me the meaning of this symbol?

I know it is the symbol of pisces, but has it a deeper meaning?
Thanks in advance!

Symbology is one area I really have wanted to begin to study. Unfortunately I have not done this yet and therefore can't help you with your question. Looking at the symbol I see two apposing sides bound to a steady hard line of equality. That is not anything other than my own mind, with no root in any knowledge as I mentioned. hehe

If anyone has any good suggestions or symbolical charts to share I would love that. hint Hint.

In the myth of pisces Aphrodite and Eros were connected by a cord. You may interpret this symbol as, for example: Two celestial bodies (stars) connected by a bridge. A tributary connecting the Tigris and Euphrates. A cord connecting two fish tails. Magnetism connecting two atoms etc etc. In general it is the connection and magnetism of two entities either earthly or celestial.

I am going to give my interpretation of the sign as i see it , it is a connection of the first with the last , the Alpha with the Omega .The spirit when it joins the body and when it leaves the body .It is the last sign in the wheel that joins the first sign in the wheel , the curves are but a piece of the whole circle 360 degrees. The bar that joins is the connection between the fire of Gods spirit and the spark of ours.We alone choose the brightness of the flames.

The ying/yang is what first comes to mind. Some have been going on about spheres being behind it all, underneath it all. When these people continue upon the subject we come to spheres with spin, and we might even consider the two spheres for instance. To say they are in contact is preferred by the scientist, I like the concept they interpermeate.

If you have two spheres in 'contact' and one is spinning in opposite direction to the other, then the friction would emanate the result of the friction in two directions. The broken line. If two spheres of the same rotation, the resutlt of friction is in one direction, the unboken line. Now we come to the I-Ching. A group of unbroken, and broken lines, given in a variety of combinations.

The symbol Pisces goes beyond this. A symbol for a Constellation. A planet is complicated enough. If you have been studying enough years, you will find a planet is part of a Planetary Chain, and this is the source of the possibly never heard before reference to this terran Globe. Earth is a terran globe. I can't explain this. I can, but it would take a long time. And likely boor most. sorry. Pisces is part of the animals in the firmament mentioned in Genesis One. Yet in Genesis Two Adam named each animal. Imagine that!?

So what does animal mean? in this context? This last might be very important to understand. Is the word animal, and what we understand animal to mean, the end of it? The Egyptians used the animal as a frequent reference. Why were animals so often perceived within our searchings of ancient palimpsests, or manuscripts? What is this? did they worship beasts? I think not. Life is important, only Life. We try to understand life. A scientist tries to understand forces and substances. We may one day understand Consciousness is Life, Force/Substance. Not yet... not yet.

From "Woman's Dictionary of Symbols and Sacred Objects" by Barbara Walker, Harper San Francisco, 1988, page 293:
"Greek, Persian, and Sanskrit names for the constellation of Pisces all meant 'Fish'; Ikhthues, Mahik, Mina. Babylonians called it The Two Tails, and sometimes divided the constellation into two parts: the Southern Fish was Simmah, the Swallow; the Northern Fish was Anunitum, the Goddess.
"Fish were traditionally sacred to the Moon-goddess, and the sign of Pisces represents two crescent moons; one waxing, one waning. In it's earliest form, this sign meant the waxing and waning of each life in cylcles defined by the moon. Since the moon was also considered the world source of water, the two crescents easily suggested two fish."

The careful observer may have noticed that Halexandria if often spelled as the Pisces symbol followed by "alexandria" and that followed by the sign of Aquarius... suggesting a connection between the Ages of Pisces and Aquarius.

See I knew we would eventually become enriched with good information. Thank you very much for the info Doc and it looks very much like I will need to obtain a copy of that book as well. It sounds like exactly what I have been looking for.

Kisses for this post.
